Nothing upsets preconceived minds like soul world Health Organization successfully crosses o'er to some other genre later he has been thoroughly pigeonholed by experts in a previous one. Such was Hank Garland, Nashville's busiest rural area guitar selector world Health Organization, with small word of advice, made a brilliant malarkey album in mid-career and seemed headed for jazz stardom until an motorcar accident left him ineffectual to perform. As a jazz performing artist, Garland had a rich melodic and harmonic resource and a levelheaded that had on the face of it honed to the creed of tone and attack according to Charlie Christian -- with some Les Paul mixed in and more than a disturb of Bud Powell's influence as substantially. But fifty-fifty on his country records (tick out Red Foley's lofty "Midnight" and "Black Maria of Stone"), Garland's urbane jazz and blues sensibilities can be felt.
Battle of Cowpens is a rural suburbia of Spartanburg, SC, and patch growing up on that point, Garland absorbed country music from Arthur "Guitar Boogie" Smith and Mother Maybelle Carter on the radio, eventually shift from banjo to guitar. He coupled the Grand Ole Opry at 15 in 1945, sign-language with Decca in 1949 as a solo creative person, and appeared on uncounted Nashville transcription roger Huntington Sessions piece jamming privately in local clubs. In July 1960, Garland came forward as a jazz player, organizing a jazz band that was scheduled to play the Newport Jazz Festival but found itself on the sidelines later on riots shut the festival.
The undermentioned year, Garland's jazz debut on book, Jazz Winds From a New Direction, stunned both jazz and nation circles, and a follow-up record album, The Unforgettable Guitar of Hank Garland, was issued. But in September 1961, a nigh fateful machine accident robbed Garland of a good handle of his coordination and retentiveness. He finally returned to playing, but never regained the celebrity of his early 60s flower. Hank Garland passed away on December 27, 2004 at the long time of 74.

Kt Tunstall - Dalai Lama Asks For Tunstall
Scottish singer/songwriter KT TUNSTALL was shocked when she received an email from a fan - because it was from Buddhist spiritual leader the DALAI LAMA.
The Suddenly I See hitmaker is set to meet up with the guru during her tour of U.K music festivals in the coming weeks.
She says, "It was one of the strangest emails I've ever had.
"It was from my manager, with the subject 'Dalai Lama' and the message said: 'He wants to meet you. Are you up for it?'"
And Tunstall is ecstatic about the meeting, adding, "I can't wait!"

Nelson Mandela - Stars Come Together To Celebrate Mandelas 90th Birthday
Tens of thousands of people thronged to London's Hyde Park yesterday to see their favourite stars celebrate Nelson Mandela's 90th birthday.
The former South African president, who spent 27 years in prison for campaigning against apartheid, also appeared on stage during the star-studded concert which was held twenty years after the Free Nelson Mandela concert at Wembley in 1988.
Singers including Leona Lewis, Amy Winehouse, Queen, Amy Winehouse and Annie Lennox performed on the night which sought to raise funds for Mr Mandela's HIV/Aids charity, 46664.
Speaking at the event, the retired South African leader called for further efforts to ensure freedom around the world and to battle poverty and disease.
He said: "Many years ago there was a historic concert which called for our freedom. Your voices carried across the water and inspired us in our prison cells far away. Tonight we can stand before you, free."
He added: "But even as we celebrate, let us remind ourselves that our work is far from complete. Where there is poverty and sickness including Aids, where human beings are being oppressed, there is more work to be done. Our work is for freedom for all."
Mr Mandela called for people to support his charity, which is named after his prison number, and to take up the fight for his causes.
Stars continued to pay tribute to Mr Mandela throughout the event and remembered how he had influenced their lives. The night came to a close with the song Free Nelson Mandela, which was a popular song in the movement to abolish apartheid in South Africa.
